Activities

Two Mile Bottom offer a range of activities using qualified and experienced voluntary instructors, specialist equipment necessary for each activity is provided along with any personal safety equipment that may be required.

Two Mile Bottom offer the facility for you to run your own Activities with your own qualified instructors, a copy of their qualification will need to be sent at time of booking. Either venue and/or equipment can be hired.

Special Needs

We will do our best to make an activity achievable by any person who wishes to try. This will be dependent upon the consent of the participant and the safety of the instructor. We expect group leaders to inform activity instructors of any condition that may affect participation or safety of any person taking part in any activity.

 

Archery

A standard archery range with two targets, for four bows at a time. Available from 1st Mar – 30th Oct; recommended for those aged 6+.

 

Air Rife Shooting

A standard shooting range, using air riffles. Available from 1st Mar until 30th Oct; recommended for those aged 8+.

A copy of the parental consent must be presented to the instructor for the young person to shoot. Failure to present this will result in the young person being excluded from shooting. – Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968.

 

10m Climbing Tower & 4m and 8m Abseiling Tower

A ten-metre climbing and abseiling tower, Available from 1st Mar – 30th Oct; recommend for those aged 6. Please note we have a limited amount of instructors who meet the qualification required by Girl Guiding.

 

Two Tyre Ravine

A great problem solving puzzle for young people to complete using tyres and planks. Recommended age 8+; leader led activity.

 

Slack Line

A chance for young people to test their balance, crossing a line from one side to another. Recommended for aged 6+; Leader led activity.

 

Kayaking/Canoeing

Available from Easter until 1st October; recommended for those aged 8+. This is equipment hire only, therefore qualified instructors must be provided.

 

Rafting

Available from Easter until 1st October; recommended for those aged 8+. This is equipment hire only, therefore qualified instructors must be provided.

 

Navigation Skills

A great chance for young people to bush up on their skills in a new environment, as well as completing some of their badge work. This is a practical session involving a hike around Two Mile Bottom with one of our instructors.

 

Pioneering

This is a equipment only, and a leader led activity.

 

Orienteering

This is a great chance for your young people to get to know the site, and it location. Why not set a challenge for after they have strike camp. These are available by email ahead of the event, or from the activities team on site. This is a leader led activity.
